Lembanna village, Malino, Reg. Gowa, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Village which is right at the foot of the mount Bawakaraeng with the geographical location 5S 119E. In this village the majority of the population earn a fortune in farming by growing a variety of vegetables, because this place is located at an altitude of 4593 feet from sea level. The villagers have to use Makassar language to communicate.
Usually the climbers make this place as a resting place before and after the climb, according to the statement of one of the Lembanna Village Leaders known also as a caretaker Mount Bawakaraeng, named Tata Rasyid. The climbers began there in Lembanna since 1971 and started bustling in 1992. The climber braid a good relations with the villagers. With the knowledge of local residents about the track at Mount Bawakaraeng, the climbers often have recourse to the citizens. Likewise, the climbers often introduce and teach Indonesian language to the villagers. In fact, some climbers had lived for days in the Lembanna village to teach the villagers.
